,----[ Google uses an old database ? ]
| Today i loginned in my google sitemaps account and i was very surprised
| Yesterday google's sitemaps page was saying that last time that google
| accessed my page it was 24.06.2006. Now its showing 19.06.2006. At this
| point im starting to think that googlebot's database is an old one , a
| backup or something like this.
`----

...Sorry if this seems utterly irrelevant, but it explains a thing or two. I
have been noticing old pages with out-of-date and incorrect content indexed.

That is curious Roy. I just logged into mine, but didn't get the same
thing. I'm willing to bet that you are not going to be the only one
though.

This one's odd.

I've seen severe regression on three of my sites at very different
times. I wonder if there's some low-priority process running deep
inside Google just making sure they don't lose something from ancient
history.

All of a sudden, on three separate occasions, I got a string of 404s
logged on the SItemap Console referring to pages that haven't existed
on the site for three years or so. They all gradually expired and - at
the moment - I'm clean.

What has changed? Whom are you talking to? Where are you comming from?

...

Ah, i see, comming from Google aren't you? Just hitting the buttons
aren't you?

PLEASE DEAR GOOGLE-GROUPS USER, DO NOT USE THE BUTTON BELOW THE ARTICLE
YOU ARE RESPONDING TO!!!!!

Use the menu under 'options' above the article / posting, just go ahead
and see for yourself, there is a menu, believe me, there really is a
link. A link that will produce some kind of a proper posting.

Or even better, use a proper email-client. Really, there is a free one,
that could produce some proper shit, you can download it any time you want.

The thing is called 'thunderbird', go now, just go and look for it. You
might even want to use Google to find it. Or just go to:
http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/ and get it!

Please help us poor usenet relics to understand what the f... you are
talking about.

Hm, not mine, not anymore after i saw his postings and him totally
ignoring politely asked questions to post in a proper way.

He knows exactly what he is doing, and why. His site is full of scraped
content and now all of a sudden he is a self proclaimed google groups
muderator. A title that has to give him some status.

Oh sh.. now i am ranting.

Ranting draws a little bit of spice and fun into what could be a humdrum
Group.:-)

Great - we'll just get someone who has Xnews to come round all our
houses and keep us all up to date.

Yes, and so is a book when i rip out some of the pages.

If a posting isn't making any sense when read without reading the whole
thread again, it is going to annoy you, it just takes a little more
time. But in the end it will.

You are not! You are merely a user of a programm you don't know the
functions off.

I would suggest you to go there and look very good, there is a button
'options' and since i believe you are a little dutch ranter, i will give
you the exact dutch name: 'opties weergeven'

The fancy programm i am talking about is Google groups!!

And hence, you use it and i don't, wouldn't it be logical you would know
where the options are instead of me telling you?

O, now my post is crap. Nice way of adressing to people. Can't even find
a button and is blowing his horn about every one else.

And chello is a fine service, when you know how to handle them and use
it, probably to much asked for you who cant even find a simple link. But
what you did not see is that i post through a service from the
university of Berlin - individual.net

Gmail-accounts i have plenty, even a whole bunch to give away, so no
need to be so cocky about that.

That my little jumpy friend is exactly what *you* should remember.
Usenet was here long before Google decided to abuse it, and it will be
there long after Google's service has been gone.

And exactly because these postings will be here for a long time, be so
kind to quote properly!

If you don't know how, read: http://www.leerquoten.nl/quote.txt
it is in Dutch, so you should be able to read and understand that.

He, two times, boy you must be jumpy. Not knowing what to do, not
knowing what to say, and just being abusive to people. The only one who
is making a total idiot out of himself is you. But hey you don't even
seem to be able to see that. So who is a poor lost soul in here?

I'm not harassing you, you on the other hand don't seem to stop being
abusive to people.

And above all, you seem to be ignorant to things people are trying to
tell you in a nice way.

So, even if John doesn't like it and is telling people not to do so.

You just got yourselves a *ploink* advice.

See? This is what happens when you only get bits of threads. I gave up
drinking two years ago. All the regulars here knew that.... them being
folk who use regular news readers...
