dsl and phone service

I have att dsl and phone service. when I pick up the phone to answer or
call the dsl is interrupted temporarily, I'm wondering if their is a way
around this problem?

I had the same problem with AT&T DSL. Our phone service was terrible.
The lines would drop unexpectedly while we were on hold, there was noise
on the line sometimes so bad that you missed the conversation. Purchased
a DSL filter from Home Depot which didn't work. I no longer use AT&T DSL.
