I negotiated a new deal in July and they did tell met the phone line
rental would be going up. However I've just received my latest bill and
my broadband charge has also gone up.
Is this allowed just 3 months into a 12 month deal? Have other people
also had an increase?

Yes it is, it's allowed for in the Terms & Conditions. Pretty much
everybody has had the increase. If you didn't like it, you had 30
days from being notified to cancel the service.
