I see BT are now starting to cut back on the "free" access we get to BT
sport with BT Broadband. I expect the next step will be to withdraw it
unless you pay extra for it.

This seems to be BT's way of doing things now...

"We're sending you this because you've chosen to view BT Sport via our
app and online player. As you've not watched BT Sport recently, from 1
August 2015 you'll receive our new BT Sport Lite pack with access to BT
Sport 1 only."

If they could deliver BT Sport at a resolution to suit the dismal
1.5Mpbs max that I receive then I might watch it.

What a bloody cheek. They are proposing without my consent to add £5.00
per month to my bill for an extra service which I haven't asked for and
without my agreement that I want it. They can't even be sure I've seen
the e-mail nor cant they know whether I am in a fit state mentally or
physically to actually deal it
The alternative they say is for me to "downgrade" to BT Sport Lite which
is basically a downgrade to what I get now by removing Sport 2 but at
the same price as I pay now which is about twice what they would charge
a new subscriber. A bundled part of the service is part of the service.
I've been ploughing through the Ts & Cs but I'm still not sure whether
this "new" contract has a fixed time period. I am currently on rolling
month by month.
Any suggestions for a reasonably priced alternative which provide
non-secure access to their e-mail service but not Plusnet as they are
part of the thieving bastards AKA BT.

Signing up for the new BT Sport Light requires a new contract. The only way
to avoid either a new contract or a new charge is to cancel BT Sport
entirely. That option isn't available on the web site - and isn't even
mentioned as an alternative on the site. You have to phone up the
cancellations department.

So my sister was right! She went ballistic when her new broadband
deal included "Free BT Sport" and she had a long argument with the
Indian contingent insisting that they remove it. I tried to point out
to her that it was part of a bundle but she persisted and eventually
got it removed.

I haven't seen the email yet - the way their email servers are working
it's amazing I've seen any @btinternet emails at all. But I'll be
looking also at getting it removed. Probably easier to go on to live
chat - at least I can usually understand what's written.
