Interesting message on logging in on web mail today informing me of
there new wonderful features being introduced on BT Yahoo Mail - you
know the one they were abandoning in favour of Critical Path. No
forecast for any future transfers due to "service issues" for which I
read "contract issues"

Yahoo have decided it's time to update their webmail service. BT
are trying to pretend that it's a wonderful new service they are
offering to their customers, rather than something Yahoo were
doing whether BT wanted it or not.

I don't seem to have been "upgraded" yet, but on the Community
Forum, people are complaining about even more intrusive adverts.

Read your mail using an e-mail client rather than the web interface and you
won't see any adverts.

Just been partly 'migrated' in that the appearance has changed in
webmail but it is still BT Yahoo Mail. I wondered why POP3 was not
downloading and webmail was very slow to get in. I do not like the
advertising in all webmail folders where the top message is an advert;
all done to deceive of course and probably no way of turning it off!

POP3 still failing with an error message I have never seen before:
23:00:41.765: 8: Socket read timeout

I don't use webmail much, but the adverts are now very intrusive. For a
service that we do actually pay for (i.e. as part of our BT package,
rather than just Yahoo) it is doubly annoying.

POP3 still seems to be working ok for me so far....

I wonder when they will start inserting adverts directly into our email
so people using POP3 can't escape them???

Indeed. Glad to say that POP3 was returned to normal this morning.
