Have got via P2P wmv files that say player needs a security
update, which fails.
Plus (dot)WMV(dot)AVI files that say player hasn't got the
codecs.
Typical Microshite Media Player, any suggestions as to a better player
that can cope, or a site/URL that explains it all in simple
terms, that will get you playing them without major problems?

I have Media Player Classic, VLC Media Player, BSPlayer and DivX Player.
With this choice I have been able to play anything I've ever downloaded.
