The house has been taken over by an oversized alien cockroach.
She sits in the middle of the room, showing off her shiny body, eating all
she can get, while she walks through all the rooms in search for more. Big
as my foot I am afraid to step on her, she might easily get away with one of
my toes.
She looks at me spidering through my mind to see if I am able to get up from
my paralysis and reach for the spraycan.
The abstract momentum becomes critical.
We stare each other into the eyes, while I slowly reach for the poison,
hoping that my slow moves will not
betray my intent to her.
"Come here, you darling little cochroach" I wisper, while my heart beats in
excitement as I imagine
how she will grasp in vain to her survival.
I close my eyes the second I spray in her direction it makes me enjoy the
sound so much more.
Then my eyes wide open again, I see her dancing in strange convulsions to a
music unknown until the lifeforce has left.
I wait until my heartbeat has slowed again staring at the lightblue carpet
contrasting the orange of the creature.

Then my attention is caught by the silent crunches of the others hidden in
the building......

It is just one less......

Good rendition RBB! I used to live above a grocery store... Dumb place to
live! I had to build a partition around my daughter's crib so the rats
wouldn't nibble on her! You could spray all you like, but the roaches would
always come back. One night I became intent on capturing the queen. She was
heavily laiden with egg-sack. Think it was, I was watching TV in the
livingroom. I kept hearing the pitter patter of little feet from the
adjoining hall. I peaked around the corner and saw the royal one cleaning
her bulbous bod. I rushed out with a jar and captured her in it. After about
three days, she started eating herself...

The cockroach is the oldest species of life on earth. They apparently
do not fight other cockroaches. Guess there's a lesson in there
somewhere....

You must be kidding ..... :)

Adapt to live with a primate because he provides food and shelter ?
Or how to become a cannibal?

I think that the lesson to be learned is that cockroaches are the best
pest that has ever lived. this is not only because they have lives
longer than most other species but also because they are virtually
indestructable and exist in almost every climet imaginable. so in my
opinion cockraoches are totally badass!

And most of them eat anything organic.
Makes some kind of poweranimal for sure.
Made a google search, because of your post
and found the amazing hissing cockroach from
Madagascar.

Right now you can have them also on your computer

Was just talking about him. Didn't read your post first... Promise... They
have quite
the defence mechinism there! I'm sure the lowly roach can teach us something
about
our immune systems... Since they're prehistoric and so wide spread, I
wouldn't be
at all surprised if they have some play in triggering human allergies...

Retro viruses swing a molecular chain in the opposit direction. Scarlet
fever virus can
survive absolute zero. That's why some figure we may have floated in from
space.
More than likely, a 400 light year radius gas cloud composed primarily of
alcohol...
Our first primate was probably a drunk! Who knows if there isn't entomology
in that
development somewhere? I've seen some hot looking potato beetles! Just
thinking of
that bugs me...

They do.

If we are a virus that has floated in from space... it explains it all.

That explains even more!

We're more in sync... than you know! I read your commentary on my signature
and didn't think anything about it... Just thought [cute... She got a kick
out of it.] Then I went to bed by myself due to sexual preference, I have a
thing where I kick like a horse in my sleep, and I like to move around a lot
and punch people in the lip. I'm a thrasher... I laid to my abyss recalling
your message and started laughing to the point of near convulsions! I began
to wonder if I could get away with Hitler and The Three Stooges as possible
only exceptions, and laughed some more... He says as Ambesol cools into his
bum tooth.

I was aiming for "Scientific achievement of modern day wonders!" But nice
will do nicely... What's RBB stand for? What's your age, give or take 50
years as a woman's secret? Could I come and stay at your place for two
years, bring a hoard of vandals and our drooling bloodhound Wilbur? Do you
drink diet Pepsi? Or instead, could you give me your e-mail address so I can
send you some pictures I've been working on? Your drive has to be able to
hold 5000 megs., or more. Actually, they're just jpgs. No bigger than 2 or
300 k. per file that I span over days... I'd like for you to see them and
tell my what you think? I'd also like to know if you'd exchange some
poems... I'm a romanticist so, "Viva la mor! We die together.... eh?" That
is if you'd like what I write? I hardly know you? Just what are your
intentions anyway? :-) So, you have15 seconds or this message will turn into
"Howard the Duck..."

I'll keep this short because we're running out of time... You write very
succinctly! I love your style...

OK.... Maybe I shouldn't have made my request of you in a thread entitled
"The Cockroach"? I hereby extend your time allotment to seven years! I know
the feline of our species doesn't like to be pressed... Do not confuse this
with my being overly anxious! It's my nature to be overly anxious... Being
underly anxious makes me that way... Someday, we'll both make sense of
this...

It likes to be impressed instead.

.. then our cortex explodes
and our hands reach in vain
to put the pieces together
while our minds enjoy
a new found freedom.
