Tubal ligation reversal is an operation that is performed on a woman
to have her tubes "untied". This is done when a woman has changed her
mind about wanting more children and has had a tubal ligation to
prevent pregnancy. More often than not, once a woman has had her tubes
tied, they believe that they have no chance of ever having another
child. This is not true. This type of surgery permits you to try to
become pregnant again. So don't get discouraged if you have had your
tubes tubes tied because you CAN get pregnant again!

This surgery is done by a procedure that consists of two different
steps. The first step is a three inch incision just above the pubic
hair line. This will give access to the fallopian tube. Next, the
tubes are pulled away from the surrounding structures and any scar
tissue is removed. The fallopian tubes are then rejoined using tiny
sutures. This will give the eggs the opportunity to flow down the tube
for a chance to be fertilized. Once the repairs are complete, the
patient is on their way home the following day, and most patients are
back to work within 3-4 days after the surgery.
