Cost of Treatment

I'm trying to get an idea of how much different treatments cost as we're
going full speed ahead in a month or so....Our other treatments, if we do
them again, we ae well aware of their costs...(too high!)...I'm also aware
of the current cost of fertility drugs...
Can y'all give me an idea of how much IVF's and IUI's cost? We'll likely
try the latter pretty quickly...Though after a good D&C(I have adenomyosis),
an IVF may be a good bet....
We just want a baby...I'm sure y'all understand....

teaching hosptial cost about 350 month; gonadotropins $120-150 per day for 3
weeks a month; IVF $8,000 bucks a pop. I hope it works for you.

My IUI's cost about $350, too, with the cost including the sperm prep as
well as the actual insemination. When I was on follistim (gonadatropins) I
was on 3 amps a day for only 8 days and each amp cost about $60 (total,
$1880). HCG was an additional $45, took 1/2 one week and 1/2 the next.
I've never heard of taking the gonadatropins for three weeks!

I have/had unexplained secondary infertility (no problem conceiving my first
child five years ago). The only possible explanation was some slight
endometriosis found at the laparoscopy but there was no mention of it in the
surgical notes for my c-section (1995). The doctor said it probably wasn't
enough endo to really be causing the problem but maybe it was, who knows.
I had two IUI's that didn't work before I went on clomid and then two or
three with clomid that didn't work and then it finally worked with follistim
in October. When I was on clomid it was when I was still just seeing my
ob/gyn and I wasn't monitored for follicles and don't think I responded very
well to clomid (had lots of side effects but don't think it increased the
number of target eggs). With follistim, the only side effect was sore arms,
didn't have the abdominal pain like with clomid and I know I had at least
five follicles the day before the insemination according to the RE.
