You'd think I might know this since this is not my first baby, but I haven't
run into this before.
I posted a few days ago that everything went so smoothly with Annie's birth
and we're back home now, very happy, but I do have one problem. My feet and
legs, hands, etc. are extremely swollen. There must be pounds of swelling.
It's very uncomfortable but when I left the hospital there didn't seem to be
too much concern from the doctors about it and my blood pressure was within
normal at the time. Seems a little high tonight - around 160/80 - but it's
also the end of the day and I've done too much.
Anybody else gone through this? I seem to remember that Jolinda went through
some severe fluid retention.
Thanks,
Leslie (in Maine)

Leslie,
I'm SO glad you posted on this!!! I am *extremely* swollen. My feet, legs,
thighs, even hips are huge! I honestly think I'm holding pounds and pounds
of fluid! My OB and all the RNs at the birthing center said it's normal.
I've never heard of it before! They said that the edema should go away
after about 2 weeks.
Again, thanks for posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem.
Hang in,
Vicki
