In today's column George Will unleashed this political cluster bomb:

"The president has forfeited his right to be trusted
as a custodian of the Constitution."
- George Will (Oct 4, 2005)

George Will chooses his words carefully. He knows that "trust" has been
one of Dubya's calling cards. He also knows that the Oath of Office
for President of the United States carries just two requirements:
1) to faithfully execute the duties of the office, and
2) to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.

Will is directly challenging the legitimacy of this president in ways
no conservative has previously dared to consider. This may signal the
end of this administration. After all, McCarthy was brought down by
his own party. Nixon resigned under pressure from his own party.

Is this just because he and other conservatives are pissed off about Miers
or is it really about the constitution? One can argue one way to another
about Miers or think some other candidate is better, but what has that got
to do with the constitution? Or, has George Will become interested in the
legality of the Iraq war or the poor federal response to Katrina, the
deficit, what?

It is ironic that Bush II prattles on and on about how important it is
that judges stick to the letter of the law. His own administration
does not exactly stick to the letter of the law!

I think it may be the Plame affair. Will was on "This Week" the other
day when Stephanopoulos dropped his own cluster bomb stating the show
had learned that Bush and Cheney were "directly linked" to the Plame
affair. Concerns about indictments for Plame's outing might explain
this particular episode of cronyism...

Idiot.

Their ethics are a short summary of police ordinances: for them the
most important thing is to be a useful member of the state, and to air
their opinions in the club of an evening; they have never felt the
homesickness for something unknown and far away, nor the depths which
consists in being nothing at all. ___________Soren Kierkegaard

No, the liberals aren't in office, Dinah. They aren't attacking and
detroying 3
Countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, America). They haven't had their leaders
investigated and indicted. They haven't ruined the economy. They haven't
killed hundreds of thousands of people with WMDs, like Bush has and the
liberals haven't proclaimed their racist hatred.
Get real, your party has proven to the World they aren't even human, Dinah.
