I am using ICQ 99b, and I have not used the chat for a long time, maybe not
even since I've used 99b. I do not remember. However, this time while
using it, I get flashes of light across the chat screen while typing. Like
little boxes of white that appear and disappear real quickly. Very odd.
Not too annoying but odd. Any FAQ's on this subject or anyone heard of
this???

the chat module uses resources & graphics...it might mean you're having problems with your video driver...if so, it will only get worse...try updating your video driver...
the manufacturer probably has a web site...

Dear Uhara,
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I have the latest video
drivers. I think STB abandoned support for my video card when they got
bought by 3DFx. Either way I have the latest version from their web site
installed. Also, I have the latest version of DirectX installed. 7.0a.
Well, it's not too bad right now. Any other ideas?

Sorry Jason,
I was hoping that was it... :(

Thank you for the suggestion. The problem did not bug me enough to find the
need to revert back to a previous version. I have been in general happy
with 99b.

I'm experiencing this phenomenon, too. I have the latest drivers
installed for my ATI video card, and the problem persists. Perhaps
the next version of icq will solve this problem.
