Createing a ICQ proxy

the same computer as ICQ. The reason is that I want to add some extra
functionality too it.
I have made it listen and forward all data to login.icq.com however
login.icq.com redirects the client to another server.... I have that
package below and what I am trying to do is to modify the target
server to my localhost... It wonät work however... donät know why....
Maybe someone can explain it to me?
Below is first the original package... then the one my proxy modifies
it to before sending it

The original packet contains a block of data known as a "cookie".
That cookie gets passed to the second server as part of the login.
Your modified packet, however, has extra bytes at the end which are
not part of the original packet. As such, after the cookie packet is
processed, the server will attempt to read the next packet and fail
because the packet header is not valid and it will deny you access.

That seem to be the thing I missed, those extra bytes at the end...
don't know where they come from... I didn't see them there before:)
I still got some problems but this may be the main couse:)

Hmm.... I have now looked very hard trying to figure out where these
extra bytes came from... And I realised that it was my logging and hex
program that did it wrong....
So, I am trying to explain what I want to do once again.
First I attempted to just make the proxy forward traffic between icq
and the icq server. Doing this by running my "proxy" on 127.0.0.1 and
setting 127.0.0.1 in ICQ settings instead of login.icq.com.
This would be how it is connected:
ICQ(127.0.0.1) <<-->> Proxy(127.0.0.1) <<-->> ICQSERVER(login.icq.com)
Anyway... the ICQSERVER sends a redirect so that ICQ connects to
another server instead (205.188.10.* or something).
My thoughts was then to catch the package containing the redirect in
my Proxy after it is sent from the ICQSERVER and then modify the
redirect from 205.188.10.* to 127.0.0.1 before sending it threw to
ICQ. This however does not seem to work. ICQ refuses to answer to the
package, and it doesn't try to open a new connection either.
I have attached the packages at the end of this message (They should
be correct this time at least).
Maybe someone can take another look at this?
