I am highly sensitive to noise.( The slamming of car doors early in the
morning. The seriously loud music
from across the road, the booming bass from next door etc.)
Is there any way of desensitizing myself through self hypnosis or through a
hypnotherapist?
TIA

Adam,
Hypnosis may indeed help you become less sensitive to the noise, or to the
situations surrounding it. However, being a Speech & Language Pathologist as
well as a Hypnotist, I need to caution you about doing anything to "lessen" the
noise without first consulting your doctor. Hearing problems, especially those
related to sensitivity to noise, can be signs of some serious nerve issues in
some isolated cases. Not trying to scare you or anyone, but this is the same
warning that any reputable hypnotist would give someone interested in pain
management... it should not be addressed without previous medical clearance.
Hope it helps,
Steve
