Hey Turtle:

Haven't checked with you for a while. This is Tom in Texas

I am in the process of changing out my air handler. I tore out
the old leaky Fedders 2 1/2 ton A coil and electric furnace and
am putting in a new Goodman unit. The docs mention piston
size. I am unfamiliar with this and want to know where to find
the "piston" for this unit. It is NOT a heat pump, just a straight
A/C and electric furnace. The condensing unit is a Janitrol
2 1/2 ton. I use the all-electric because of the wife's allergies.

Also, I have been doing some reading and it seems that I might
be starving the system. I have 6 six-inch flex-ducts and 2 10-inch
flex-ducts connected to the system. One of the 6 inch and 1 of
the 10 inch are about 20 feet. The rest are shorter.

Also, the Janitrol condenser is the same one I was using for the
old unit. Since the evaporator was leaking, do you think my R22
is contaminated? Should I recover it and put in new? or just add
what is necessary to bring it up to full charge? I shut the valve
and pumped it all into the condenser before I opened it up.
Then I pulled vacuum for 3 hours on the new evap coil.
