I'm thinking of getting one of these thermostats to help control the
heat and A/C in my house. Because of the large amount of southern
glass exposure, our heating is somewhat uneven, especially if we have
a fire on one room. This wireless thermostat may be the answer. I can
take the sensor to the room I want to heat or A/C...and not rely on a
single wall mounted unit to control the whole first floor. (I have
three zones in the house...hot/cold air system with heating coils in
the ducts from an oil boiler).

I have never used a Carrier Thermostat (to be honest, I didn't even
know they sold thermostats. I've always used Honeywell's chronotherms
and the like...but Honeywell doesn't have any wireless units....so
I've had to look elsewhere for this application.

I am looking for relatively narrow temperature control...I don't want
the room to have to drop 2 degrees F before the heat triggers...and
that's not in any carrier spec. Honeywell shares these things with
people, Carrier has almost no information on their products.

So, I'm looking for someone who's actually installed or used this
unit.

Part number, for anyone who cares is P474-1100RF and P474-1100REC
