Philco is mid line stuff from Nordyne. Not sure where they position
Elect-aire, maybe for mobile homes.

We can't price a system via computer. Too many variables. Heat pump
only? Not installing a matching indoor coil? I can't price that - I
refuse to do it! Only hacks do that.

Tappan & Frigidaire are their best units, cabinet protecting coil, 8
year parts warranty, 5 year replacement of outdoor unit if compressor
fails.

I was told Elect-Aire was Nordyne top line of product but the installer
install a philco modle instead.

I was told Elect-Aire does not exiest anymore - and contacting Nordyne
is to no avail.

Received mix versions - first Frigidaire replace Elect-Aire modles, now
Philco replace Elect-Aire...confused..

I dont need prices but the simple word that PHILCO and ELECT-AIRE and
Frigidaire are in the same price level.

I really need a straight answer to see if I was taking for a fool, I am
no expert on this and it was the first time buying a heat pump to
connect to my new build house with a air force system.

From what I can see, the model numbers are the same between Electaire
and Philco. Nordyne bought the right to use the old appliance names so
converting to those names. I would say you got the same product, just a
different name.

The Philco and the Elect-aire are the same unit that has a 6 year all parts
warranty. The Grand-Aire has a 5 year warranty and does not have all the
features the Philco/Elect-aire units have. NORDYNE has been making HVAC
products for over 75 years - yes the manufactured housing industry is where
they installed most of them. They have been building products for
residential homes of the past 15 years with an outstanding track record.
York and Trane will work but don't have a 6 year warranty on all the parts.
