I have an old (i think 20 years) A-12 Annie hermetic compressor tester.
I lost the manual and it is already more then10 years that i used it.
Does anyone know what the exact color codes is of the 4 leads coming out of
the unit?
Is there someone who has a copy of the manual?

Regards
Peter

this is Turtle.

Others may have it real fast but if not i have two types over at my shop in
the store room. They have all the books with it and still in the plastic
box. i'm not up on model numbers of them but is the A-12 the little one for
1 ton or less or the big one 2 ton and up. I have both and have not looked
at them in atleast 10 to 15 tears. they were both brand new in the box when
we got them from a pawn shop back then and we used them maybe 3 or 4 times
in a yerars time and got cussed atleast 2 time from the customers that we
used them on. When a compressor locks up use a SPP-8 and it don't work -----
Change the Damn Thing and keep the customer from bad mouthing you.

I hope your talking about the compressor unlocker brand Annie . If not I'm
all wet here.

Turtle,
It is indeed a compressor unlocker.
It is for my son who is studying Refrigeration Engineering for the moment.
You should help me - in fact my son - if you only could give me the meaning
of the colored leads.
His young teacher was interested in this device because he never heard of it
before.
I used it appr. 10 - 15 years ago but it was since long on a shelf in ly
shop, completely dusted.
Hermetic compressors are so cheap that it is not worth to try to unlock them
(especially because this happens mostly on older compressors)
But for educational use is it a good learning device (diff caps, ohm, amp en
voltage reading...)

this is Turtle.

1) First if i knew what kind or model you had to see it i could tell you
right off. Now i can't see it so here I am shooting in the dark.

2) On the leeds going to compressor on my model will be White Common , Red
Capasistor , Black to Run and green to fram of compressor. If your wrong
switch them around a see. I know this sound wild but try it , you might like
it.

3) Now do know that all it does is switch back and forth the start and run
power supply to make it run backwards. switch the Start and the Run wire and
make it run backwards. The put it back to run forward.

4) If i would want to unlock one , I just switch the Run and the Start
wire to make it run backwards to try to unlock it. All it is a $150.00 wire
Switcher.

If you like E-mail me and i can see about it's operation.
