I've heard of many different hare-brained e-business models, but this is
just silly.
First of all, with so many wannabe Web designer portal sites out there, why
should I take seriously one which uses what appears to be Verdana or Tahoma
for its bitmapped logo? Any competent Web designer knows you don't create a
bitmap for a standard font when some cleverly written DHTML could do the job
quite nicely. Or, one could just invest in a collection of professionally
designed fonts like Myriad, Humanist, Stone, Zurich, etc. It's a small
investment with a big impact.
Second, why would I want to waste my time creating content for someone's
proprietary site when I can post site critiques to USENET for the whole
world (especially employers) to see (theoretically forever, assuming Google
lasts)?

No offense but this sure is a weak reason for not taking this, or any
site, seriously. I suppose you wouldn't take Amazon.com seriously
either for the same reason?
