If this is like most newsgroups, I'm sure a number of you know
one another for a while now. Would someone mind telling me, are
most of you working in Web design-type jobs?

I think everyone here does their own thing. Alot do design, some resell
hosting, some run their own servers and some are hobbyist, some have jobs,
some are freelance....

Perhaps if you were a little more forthright with what you really are trying
to get to.....

I know no one here but I have a career job outside of the design field, but
have been designing sites for 3 yrears now as a business. I enjoy the
creativity and look forward to doing it full time when I retire frommy
regular job..

As for me, I've owned my own web design and hosting company for 4+
years. It is one of several businesses I run full time!
