Hi --
Anyone ever seen this 1976 movie supposedly "based on a true incident?"
I just finished watching it for the first time (well, saw it when I was real
little and basically just remember being too scared to uncover my eyes, so
that time doesn't really count) and I thought it was pretty damn good. Some
eerie scenes, some decent direction, and . . . well, some bad acting from a
few of the people involved, but not so bad that I couldn't overlook it.
Definitely worth what I paid for it -- a mere $.47 rental! :)
Anyone know any more info. about this "Carla Moran" chick, about what
supposedly "really happened?" Pretty interesting stuff.
Well . . . I'm gonna quit rambling. Gonna check out GOD TOLD ME TO --
finally rented it today due to all the responses to my post a few days ago
asking if it was any good. The majority opinion: "A CLASSIC! Original and
pretty scary!"
I guess I'll find out in a few minutes . . .
Thanks for listening,
James

The Entity scared me as well.....Barbara Hershey was great as "Carla
Moran".....

the only thing I know is that whatever demon or poltergeist that was stalking
her followed her for...wherever she went and all her attempts to rid herself
failed.

scary stuff.....I was terrified because when I learned of "leaving yourself
open to such thngs" can attract such evil to you, made me feel helpless. Of
course, I can't say that anything as significant has happened to me could make
me experience what Carla went through...nevertheless, I had nightmares for
weeks after seeing THE ENTITY.....and I'm still traumatized from that movie to
even consider reading any books based on that experience.

The book, by Frank DeFellita, is great. It's pretty boring, but the ending is good.

I agree. The movie is scary! I hardly got any sleep that night cause I thought
I heard a thump or something breathing!

Well, I heard about the story about that woman on Sightings. Don't really
remember anything about it, but the story made me interested in the movie.

All people who claim to have supernatural experiences are usualy proclaimed
hoaxes at one point or another (usually after they have bared their soul and
brinked up the bank account) but to my recollection the Carla Moran story
was quite documented as far as these things go. The Amittyville Horror was
eventually deemed a hoax, but I believe The Carla Moran story has yet to be
proven as such.

That must have been a damn good body double. I never noticed. The nudity is
surprisingly abundant. A movie like this could never get an R rating in
1999.

I remember reading an article about a photo that was taken during a visit from
the entity at Carla Morgan's house. The photo was of a round circle of light
that was where Carla said the visitor was at; anyway the point of the report
was that shot could not have been a fake due to the angel that it was taken...
...thought that is was interesting
