if you haven't seen this movie, do everything in your power to do so. While
everyone into J-Horror is gushing over the zombie mayhem that is Junk, I
think Wild Zero is a far better movie. One part Night of the Living Dead,
one part Rock n Roll High School. A meteor crashes into a city and turns
everyone there into zombies, Ace and Tobio (who harbors a pretty funny
secret) ride into town to see Guitar Wolf (a japanese hybrid of Joey Ramone
and Iggy Pop) play a show that night. An arms dealer drives back to her
stash to wait for a yakuza client and three bickering idiots all ride into
town to check out the meteor. Everyone soon learns that the place is
infested and lots of bloody zombie mayhem ensues with Guitar Wolf eventually
stepping in to kick ass and take names. Along the way, a bizarre and
obsessed club owner who was shot by Guitar Wolf is stalking the band and for
some reason, aliens come into play. It also has one of the best soundtracks
since Return of the Living Dead.

try and find a subtitled version of this movie (the subs are a great
translation, by the way, no weird interpretations) or the only english
you'll be hearing is Guitar Wolf yelling "ROCK N ROLL!!!!!!"

I've actually seen Guitar Wolf live, and they kick ass. I'm trying to find
a copy of this movie now...

Wild Zero is, quite simply, the best zombie film of all time. It is
also the best rock and roll film of all time.

i don't know if I'd go so far as to call it the best zombie movie of all
time, but I certainly did like it a lot. I could easily say that it's one
of my favorite zombie flicks.

Also, do the japanese have a thing for hermaphrodites? This is the 3rd
movie in a week that I've seen that has some kind of hermaphrodite in it.
First, it was Fudoh, then I saw I.K.U. and now this one. What is with
that?!?!

I can think of at least two more Japanese movies with hermaphrodites in them
but I don't want to spoil any plots for you. I'm glad you guys liked Wild
Zero as much as I did. If anyone else needs a copy, let me know. I'm willing
to trade of course. Must....have.. more... Jap films.......-Dave
