Doesn't weather repeated viewing terribly well.
The soundtrack and sound design carry the film and, once you're on top
of a couple of the tricks they play with that, you can see most of the
cues coming a mile away and end up disappointed some of the cheap jolts.

A good example of this is the lawnmower murder, which lifted me out of
my chair when I first saw it but, second time around, it was pretty easy
to tell that most of its impact (its relative suddenness
notwithstanding) was due to the guttural shriek that appeared on the
soundtrack at the same time as the "reveal".
Still, it's pretty creepy for the most part, even if the villain looks
(as, I believe, Andy observed) like a member of Slipknot. I liked it
well enough to see it on the big screen at a festival screening a few
weeks back but wouldn't wax rhapsodic about it.
