Things got off to a confusing start when a mistranslation of the English
title (LONER) lead me to read the wrong synopsis (ALONE) and I spent the
whole film waiting for a siamese twin to show up.
Anyway, this Korean film is about a highschool girl called Soo-na who
lives with her wealthy Uncle and Grandmother. She is happy until her best
friend Ha-jeong commits suicide following constant bullying. Soo-na
blames herself and slips into a depression. Her mood deteriorates rapidly
and her behaviour becomes erratic. The household also notice strange
things happening and think it could be related to a family secret.
It's not too bad - there are a lot of red herrings to send you off on the
wrong track (especially if you're familiar with Asian films) but not all
of it makes sense (no surprise there).
Better than average, but not good enough that I could really recommend it.

I just watched Catfish - a documentary (?) about a facefuck relationship. I
found it quite... I don't know... poignant, perhaps. Maybe even moving.
Worth a watch if you're in the mood for something different.

Yes, then maybe I could follow it up with SEX & THE CITY 2 and some
chocolate.

Just watched another is-it-or-isn't-it-documentary, Exit Through the Gift
Shop. My new best film of 2010.

Everyone seems to rave about it. Even ANS rated it as one of the best
films of 2010.
I have to admit, I was put off by the fact that it's about Banksy. I've
always found his "underground" appeal a bit false.
I've heard some amazing things about that.
Don't look it up, either of you, just get it watched.

What...do you have some hot girls around?
I often feel that way after watching movies the White Lady recommends.
Although "Closure"/"Straightheads" was okay.

Oh yeah, totally. Any movie that threatens to deal with grownup sorts of
emotions ought to be shunned just on principle.

The irony of seeing such a big baby talk about "grownup sorts of
emotions" is just huge. Thanks for the laugh.

"Big baby"? You mean you sucked up *that* party line, too?
No, I formed that opinion based on your behavior in alt.horror.

So you're being a tad less absurd. Congratulations, I think.
Not that I think you'll ever make a decent case on that score, either.
