The following came to me this evening from a friend of the family of Brion
James. It was requested I post this, as not only has there been a lack of
publicity regarding the passing of this actor, but several hundred requests
about the death "being a hoax" have been made to professionals and friends
of Brion James.

Riverside, CA. on August 11 and 12, 1999.


ANNOUNCEMENT

DEATH OF ACTOR BRION JAMES
Actor Brion James of Malibu, CA passed away August 7, 1999 at UCLA Medical
Center in Los Angeles at the age of 54. Cause of death is listed as a heart
attack.
A graveside service was held August 14, 1999 at 11 A.M. at Mountain View
Cemetery in Beaumont, CA, the place where Brion spent the first eighteen
years of his life. Born February 20, 1945 in Redlands,CA, the family soon
relocated to Beaumont, CA, where he resided until graduation from Beaumont
High School in 1962. After graduation, Brion majored in Theater Arts and
graduated from San Diego State University.Upon graduation, Brion relocated
to
New York to study acting, working a variety of jobs to support himself in
the
early years. He also did a stint in the National Guard (years unknown).
Fellow actor and childhood friend Tim Thomerson and he served in the armed
forces and have made several films together.
A veteran of over 100 television and over 120 movie roles, Brion is best
remembered for roles such as the replicant Leon in "Bladerunner", General
Munro in "The Fifth Element", Big Teddy in "Cabin Boy",Max Jenke in "The
Horror Show", as well countless other roles in films such as "Southern
Comfort", "The Player", "Tango & Cash", "48 Hours", "Another 48 Hours",
""Enemy Mine" and "Silverado"
Brion is survived by two brothers, Craig James of Scottsdale, Arizona and
Chester James, of Beaumont, CA.
