Supposedly there's a remake of House on Haunted Hill coming out in the
fall. I haven't read a thing about it anywhere, other than the fact that
its in development. Any Alt.horrorians heard anything about this project?
Without Vincent Price, it probably won't be too worthwhile, IMHO.

It will be out around Halloween. It stars Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Peter
Gallagher, Bridgette Wilson and others. It was directed and co-written by
William Malone, and coproduced by Terry Castle, daughter of William. It's the
first film from Dark Castle, a new production company set up by Joel Silver and
Robert Zemeckis.
It follows the original up to a point, but those who've seen that one
realize there were no ghosts in it, just sneaky would-be murderers. THIS
version has ghosts aplenty. It looks quite good.
I hope you're right, Bill. Anything with Famke Janssen is worth seeing, I
guess, but my hopes aren't up too high.

No more movie remakes or sequels. Hollywood be original for once. Those
babyboomer scriptwriters and producers are out of ideas. We need new blood
in Hollywood!!!!

Sounds promising! Is Dark Castle going to be a home for future Tales From
the Crypt projects, maybe?

Marilyn Manson WAS suppost to play the bad guy, but he turn the offer down.

No, he was going to play the Elisha Cook, Jr. role, but was too busy to do so.

God, I hope not. The last one was so awful I hope they never even think about
doing another one.
But I suspect Dark Castle may be a kind of >replacement< for Tales from the
Crypt projects. That is, a way of doing medium-budget horror movies without
having to tie them into the Tales format.
Thank God. I refuse to spend one cent which may partially end up in
hands such as his.
