I just got the word this morning that it's a go if we want to have the Spring
Thaw Howl at my famly's farm in Ohio. There was mention of a second site
for the howl so I'll let y'all decide where you want to have it.
The site is a 123 acre patch of farmland with woods fields and a barn. There is
no house on the land. It's landlocked except for a long driveway that leads
to it. There is a spring there if you like spring water <usable as long as
no one muddies up the water> and a barn in case there is nasty nasty weather.
It woulnd't cost us a dime and we could do whatever we wanted, provided we
clean up afterwards. The driveway can get very muddy with just a little rain
so if that happens we can have the Howl on another farm they own just a few
miles aways. That one is 283 acres and there would be plenty of places to park
that wouldn't be so treacherously muddy. The camping would be primitive
regardless of which site we use but if an emergency occurs,
using the
house on farm two wouldn't be a problem.
The site is located about 50 miles northeast of Columbus, near a little
village <about 10 houses> called "Nelli". If you can't find that on a map,
look for Warsaw, and if you can't find that, look for Coshocton <about a 30 min
drive from the farm>.
If this site is agreed upon, I'll send directions, via email, to all who
want to come.
Discuss and let me know what y'all think. Regardless of the site, it will be
wonderful so see all made it to the last Howl and I'm looking forward to seeing
some new faces there to.

Me, too! What weekend are we talking about? My spring break is the second
crummy week of march, so THAT isn't a contender. Well, any weekend . . .
Let's decide soon and start working out rides! Where are my fellow
Pennsylvanians?

The Howl will definitely be sometime in April. It will have to be over a
weekend and preferably on or near a full moon, or some other celestial
event of significance. What weekend is good? Throw out some dates so we
can get the Thaw Ball rolling. I know there are some weres that need rides
so the sooner we get that ironed out the better. As WolfShadow suggested;
Carpooling will not only reduce the cost of travel for those coming to the
howl, it will also help the evironment. After all that`s part of what were all
about.
Hopefully we can get the time nailed down this week.
Howls,
FireWolf
Well, full moon April is the weekend of the 14th, 15th, and 16th; the 16th
being Easter sunday. Which doesn't pose a problem for me, as my folks live
very far away from me and don't expect me to be around for Easter. Just so
we set a date fairly soon, so I can put in my leave request.
I'll be coming up I75, if Smash needs a ride, to Toledo the Thursday before
and then from there to the howl site... anyone else on the route that needs
a ride?

With this I will give the tentative date of April 14th, 15th and 16th, better
known as Easter weekend, as when the howl will be. If there's anyone that
can't make it, let me know and we'll work out a better time.
Howls,
FireWolf
I hope that that'll work for me . . . if my fiancee doesn't get too mad
(she made me promise to sing in her church that day). I'll work it out to
see you all.
Who's going that might be coming through PA, possibly on I-80? Clarion is
on 2 exits along there. If noone is coming that way, is anyone coming
close? I might be able to get a ride / bus to another point if necessary.
Feel free to e-mail me personally.

Well . . .
The only full moon weekend is Easter weekend. A few people might have
church-related problems, but on the good side, it's a weekend that will
probably be extended for all of us college types, giving us time to get
there by Friday night. Whay not? Who says the 14-16 of April?
If that damn groundhog (you think it's bad -- my fiancee lives in
Punxsutawney!) is right it should be temperate by then . . . and if the
little @#$$$%%!! is lying, we have a destination for a pack hunt! (I know
where they keep the rotter -- let's go!)
Once we get thay settled, can we start figuring out rides? I, once agin,
am in Clarion, PA. I'm going to have to hook up with somebody somewhere to
get a ride, but Chani (future mate and Punxsy girl) could shuttle me
somewheree not too far away to meet someone. What are plans -- especially
for PA (especially Western PA-State College-Pittsburgh types) travelers?
