I especially like his statement "Out of this door might come
something, or we might send something to it, just like one of HPL's
characters. Except its real.
This whole thing gives me the creeps.

Great quote, thanks.
Ther are quite a few good mythos stories with just this theme.

Just don't forget to keep the BFG close at hand.

I saw a news story on TV here, a few weeks, which said that they there
had been a lot of unexplained problems with the collider. A scientist
had put forward the theory that the problems were caused by something in
the future trying to stop us from turning on the collider ( ala John
Carpenter's - Prince of Darkness) in order to save us.
Apparently some of the scientists in the Manhattan Project strongly
objected to first atomic bomb being being detonated. The atomic bomb
gets it's power by converting matter into energy E=MC2 (Energy = Mass X
Speed light squared).
The scientists were not sure that when the bomb was detonated that the
chain reaction would not spread to all matter on earth creating a second
sun in our solar system.
...... they went ahead and did it any.
Anyway nice knowing you all....
No disrespect to you.
Al Smith + BFG vs Yog-Sothoth
My money is on Yog-Sothoth.
Nice knowing you......
Yog and I go way back. He's a pussycat when you get to know him.

Should I leave a saucer of blood out for him? :)
And, ye gods, what brilliant sights he shows.. How he loves to take
people sight-seeing..
No, but you WILL need some sea-salt and some unbleached, unprocessed
flour...
Only if it's the blood of the innocent.

He's like the doorman at a revolving door.

Yah, I know all about what they thought might happen with the
Manhatten experiment. Lunatics. And then, exploding 1 or 2 every
week in Utah or Nevada, radiating our own atmosphere, telling the
people living there that it was safe (no, it wasn't). They set it off
anyway and then kept setting them off. Yah, give a chimp a torch.
The scientists that actually knew what this was and how to do it
objected to doing it at all, because once someone spent the money to
DO it, others would know it could be done. And also do it. Look what
man has done to our world.
Perhaps they should NOT try to find this Higgs particle if this is
what they think might happen. Sheesh. Anyone on here see "The
Mist?" Very good. Uh, for a movie. I'd not want to LIVE it in real
life.
Nice "knowing" y'all too, tho I hardly know y'all (I actually know
very few mythos people, and from way way back.) At least let them
wait till Stargate makes all its movies and finishes up with all its
shows. And then there are the other shows... :-D. I'd be about 90 by
then.
Truly, this is nothing to joke about. Black science (not black
magic). Hawkings pretty sure we won't make a black hole in there.
But he doesn't know.
Anyone on here know what happened with Baxter Pharm a few times
already? Yah, we got the economic problems - and now this?
It should give everyone the creeps. It should terrify everyone that
there are humans around that can figure out how to do insane shit like
this, including making nukes. Insane shit. Even Hitler wasn't THAT
insane - he said that making a weapon like that to win a war would be
insane, it would poison the atmosphere. Yup.
