Speaking of art (or commerce, or whatever we're talking about) do
you know if any artist has ever attempted to create Pickman's
paintings? The ones described in the story "Pickman's Model?"

There are several versions of paintings from the story, though I don't recall any being
particularly being based on the titles or descriptions given in it.

For example, there are several PICKMAN MODEL films that have shown such painting, the one
in the NIGHT GALLERY episode by the that name being the one most likely known. In fact,
I have seen at times versions of it (and other GALLERY painting) for sale on eBay.

I considered bidding on one, but the colors in it were totally different and wrong from
the one shown in the series. I ask the artist if he would create another copy with the
proper colors, but he never responded. Yeah, I'm enough of an painter I could do it
myself without too much trouble. I may someday.

You can also look at "Pickman's Model" in Google Images that turn up some examples, among
other images:

Also, some of the titles mentioned, like "Ghoul Feeding" will turn up results.

"The Lesson" bring up a few that seems based on the story.

This link seems to have a number of paintings from the story by one artist:

Of course, the most famous title is "Holmes, Lowell, and Longfellow Lie Buried in Mount
Auburn" but that doesn't seem to result in anything. Though it does get you a photo of a
real Pickman family tomb in Salem:

So if other words, gee, if you had done a bit of searching, you would have easily found
that, YES, there are such painting, etc. that have been done.

But, yeah, since I did the work, any of you reading this, PLEASE BID ON THE LOVECRAFTIAN
ARTWORK I HAVE UP FOR AUCTION *NOW* ON eBAY!

Thanks!

Browsing around at the rather poor images of ghouls on Google, I
came across this Weird Tales cover. Damn! They really pushed the
boundaries of censorship, didn't they? You couldn't have used a
cover like this in the 1960s on an open newsstand.
