Blasphemies & Revelations by Price - Table of Contents

contents, which I post here for those who want it. I also added the
book where I have seen them before, when I could identify it. I don't
have a large collection of Crypt of Cthulhu or other periodicals so I
likely missed some sources (actually doing this made me realize how
big my mythos library has become and that maybe I could just start
reading over from the beginning without buying any new books for a few
years as I have no hope of remembering how most of the stories
were...). I noticed one major typographical error. The last few
pages of The Strange Doom of Enos Harker was deleted, and the entire
The Horror in the Genizah was printed over it on page 358. The Horror
in the Genizah appears complete a second time where it is suppose to
be from the table of contents, on page 433. As I have never read i
before, I do not know how much of The Strange Doom of Enos Harker is
missing. The stories are in chronological order; I added the year
Price attributes them to. My review will follow in a day or so.

As I wrote in the other thread, it can be found in THE XOTHIC LEGEND
CYCLE.
I HATE that kind of misprint. I've written an e-mail to Mythos Books,
and suggest you do the same. Maybe later printings can be corrected.

Right you are, Jim. A young apprentice betrays the witch he is
apprenticed to and attempts to use Cthaat Aquaningen to find out about
treasures of the deep. Results are a bit predictable although the
imagery was good. For me it was OK, not Price at his best. BTW,
maybe you should write a story about an internet geek who accidentally
stumbles across a Cthaat room...

Thanks for the contents listing for Price's collection. With you and
a few others adding information on previous appearances of the

"From the Pits of Elder Blasphemy" was published in the 2nd of the
re-started STRANGE TALES issues from Wildside Press, so #9, I believe.
#8 had a Mythos tale by Gary Myers, and #10 was supposed to have
"October Surprise" by Kevin L. O'Brien, but I never did see #10 so not
sure what else was in it. "Elder Blasphemy," by the way, was one of 2
Mythos stories written by Hugh Cave (and presumably with Robert M.
Price?) in which he finally and successfully blended his two main
fiction genre loves -- Haitian Voodoo and Cthulhu Mythos. The other,
was in an issue of WEIRD TALES (notes not at hand right now, and can't
even recall its title) and featured a Voodoun pirate who used Cthulhu
(or perhaps a pet Spawn of Cthulhu?) to whelm and rob ships.

I concur with all my heart! We seem to be entering a new phase of
Mythos fiction being published in the small press, especially from
Mythos Books and Hippocampus Press. We need our experts with us, and
Paul Berglund is our top expert. He has been so involved, for so long
a time. The Mythos seems very much alive at the moment. We need some
kind of on-going online site that lists relevant new Mythos fiction
and poetry (please let us not neglect the poetry -- I've yet to see
Ann K. Schwader's new sonnet collection from Mythos, but I'll bet it's
amazing!) -- the books of such listings become out-dated the moment
they see print. I am constantly adding to my list of published Mythos/
Lovecraftian fiction, and Hippocampus has n active programme of
publishing new Mythos collections, anthologies, novels and poetry (do
any of you have their new pb edition of Clark Ashton Smith's THE
HASHISH-EATER, which includes an audio cd of Donald Sidney-Fryer
reading the ENTIRE POEM??!!)
You have been sorely missed, Paul -- both as a recorder of all things
Mythos, and as an editor! It is my hope that you will return to
actively editing new anthologies of Mythos fiction -- traditional, new
wave, cutting edge, whatever -- for Mythos Books, Hippocampus, &c. We
need your dedication and expertise.

I have it. It's a very fine edition with the variant texts as Smith
revised the poem, and a gloss for the rare words.
