Dear All:

I recently learnt about Zeitner watches from a magazine. The brand
advertized was the Zeitner Choronotech. I was wondering if any of you
could let me know about these watches. I dont know where these watches
are made in, how durable they are and so on. In a nut shell, I know
virtually nothing about this brand. (Having said that, I must confess I
dont know much about many other
brands either :)

The magazine from which I saw the ad was offering the Zeitner Chronotech
for £99 (I'm UK based) which has a retail price of £495. Later I found
the watch in the following web page:
http://www.zeitner.com/acatalog/Zeitner_Catalog_Chronotech_8.html

Could anyone please advise on whether I should buy the watch? The watch
I usually wear is a SEIKO kinetic titenium. I'm actually looking for
another watch with Chronograph.

Thanx in advance

I can't tell you about Zeitner, but I can tell you my opinion about the
"Retails for $200,000 but now available for only $25"
Total Bull. Avoid this scam.
There are several watch companies that do that and I think they have
inferior products. They rely on marketing hype, not a quality product,
to keep themselves afloat.
I think you're better off sticking to name brands like Seiko, Eterna,
Oris, Omega, etc.

From the looks of things it would appear that they have some nicely designed
pieces that are attractive to look at but they really say nothing about the
movements. Mechanical or Quartz? Wind or Auto? What are they made of? It
appears to me to be nothing more than an inexpensive watch with a some nice
looking marketing. I could be 100% off base on this as it is only my
opinion from viewing their site.

Based on this website I would stay far away from these watches. Their watch
descriptions are pure BS. They say things like "masterpiece French movement"
and "uncompromising quality", yet they give absolutely no details. In
addition to that, the manufacturer itself sells watches for only one fifth
of the suggested retail price on its own website. Don't trust them.

If I was you, I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. They have been
advertising them in mags / supplements for years- you never see them
in ANY jewellers. How can they keep advertising "Normal RRP £425 (or
however much it says)"- WHERE ARE THEY "NORMALLY" SOLD???

I think this is a bit of a con. I think they are playing on the name
Zeitner sounding quite similar to Zenith- which most people have heard
of.

Is short- DON'T DO IT! There are many other quality watches to choose
from. If I was you I would post a new message stating the price range
you are thinking of and invite suggestions.

Have you considered a used quality watch?

Hope this is of some help

Dear All:

Thanx very much for taking the time to reply my query. After reading
your replies I have come to the 'sane' conclusion that I shall stay
far...far away from buying Zeitner watches :)

Thanx again.

Hi there,
I actually bought a Zeitner Chronograph for approx. £100 back in the early nineties! I have bought other watches since then, mainly Seikos, but I always come back to the Zeitner! It keeps such good time (within a second of the speaking clock each month) and I have never had a single problem. I don't know where they are or where made - it may be that manufacturers have changed over the years - I would love to know more if anyone knows as I would also like to purchase another. I can only speak for my 20 odd year old watch but I really cannot fault it and would recommend it to anyone!

I've had a Zeitner chronograph watch, which I bought years ago under the reduced price deal and it hasn't missed a beat in all the time I've had it. Looks pretty good to. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

0k....I am the proud owner of several Zeitner Chronotech watches which I have owned for many years.I would give a very clear endorsement of these watches, in terms of design, quality, and cost..I like watches and I know that there are many makes that have a higher profile and reputation...But when I saw Zeitner watches, also in a Sunday magazine..I took a chance...Back in 1997..I wear them in rotation..and occasion...I fully endors them as a quality product...
