Hi,
My local watch repairer tells me I need a "Balance complete", a
balance staff and spring for a Gruen 870 movement. Any leads would be
appreciated.

Sincere regards,

John

Have tried this side of the pond but no joy I'm afraid.
Tried 5 of my suppliers.
Your best bet would be to make a general search request on the horology
and antiques newsgroups.
Sorry not more helpful.......

ps: I see you collected some 'stick' here! Well I should simply ignore
it as this kind of newsgroup is exactly right for searches. There are
some listerv groups for professionals and enthusiasts to which you might
consider subscribing: CLOCKS; MAJORODOMO WATCH; CLOCKSMITHS to name but
three.

Sylvester & John: I wasn't trying to be unpleasant, but sometimes people
make downright odd postings here. Newsgroups are great places for
searching, so I hope you'll continue to do so.
What has happened so far in your search for the balance complete for the
870?
