I don't doubt there are. What I do question is their relevance to
this group when this info is spammed in such profusion.

I've no idea if this watch 'counts,' but some months ago I bought a
new Tissot hunter case quartz pocket watch. Full retail was 'prox $230 or
so. The jeweler who sold it to me said he was discontinuing the Tissot line
because he had 'issues' (unspecified) with the Tissot sales representative,
so I got it at a very good price.

I didn't buy this watch because it was swiss made (or whatever). I
bought it because I liked its lines, the way it appeared and functioned. It
failed and I sent it back under warranty. It was repaired (read: replaced)
and the new one returned to me (free via FedEx one-day air). Needless to
say, I'm very happy with it.

How this relates is that I suspect many (most?) people who buy a
watch in that price range (i.e., under, say, $500) buy it simply because of
its aesthetic appeal and its functionality.

Unless the purchaser is really sophisticated, or is a collector, or
if the item is a super high grade, I don't think many people CARE that parts
in a 'swiss watch' are mostly made in China from recycled fish byproducts or
from plowshares beaten into balance wheels in the Ukraine, or whatever. As
long as the thing looks good and works, they simply don't care.

In the event they ARE one of the above, I rather suspect they'll
have the savvy to open the back and inspect the movement to determine its
origin, plus having already the knowledge of which you constantly whine.

In short, while it is true that a wrong *may* be being perpetrated,
your constant spams seem to indicate this is of some overwhelming importance
to you. While I admire your tenacity, I utterly deplore your means. Quite
frankly, I strongly doubt the ultimate source of the parts in a Swiss watch,
a Japanese camera, an American shotgun, a British sportscar, or an Italian
motorcyle is really high on anyone's priority list.

#1 please stop feeding the troll "Randall"..I have him blocked but his
messages are getting thru via your repetition of them. If you must respond
to the troll, at least don't repeat his garbage.

#2 Now that I've seen the post, I believe a lot of the "ripoff reports"
against Swiss brands are filed by T. Allison himself as part of his
continuing campaign to muddy the waters and make the bonafide ripoff
reports against allison (of which there are many) harder to find.
