Greetings:
I own a watch that was made by the Veglia company. The same company
which makes guages for Italian cars. It has three dials: day, date, and
stop wacth features and a toggle type band. It keeps perfect time. I
have never seen another watch made by this company, nor have I found
anyone who knows anything about them. I bought it in a small southern
Italian town in a very small jewelery store from a jeweler who didn't
speak English well enoguh to tell me where it came from or anything
about it. As far as I know it is one of a kind.
Has anyone ever heard of or seen a watch made by Veglia? Any info would
be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

A simple Google search shows that there are at least 3 different
models. They are or claim to be Swiss Made. So i would class them with
the rest of the "fashion watches", such as Pierre Cardin, Ferrari,
Gucci, etc.. which are manufactured, designed and branded by the
Swiss.

Thanks, Frank. But I find it odd that I was unable to get anything from
Google on it. granted my Googling isn't all that good, but in a simple
search I got nothing.

Grazie per le informazioni. Non ho conosciuto niente circa questi
orologi. Realmente le amo, poichè sono molto uniche e sono
apparentemente quello unico in America che ha uno!

Oh you get quite a few(lot of false ones) with "Veglia watches".
It also turns out that it is a proper brand, the only one i bypassed
on the first page was this(5th hit), because my Italian is about as
good as your Hungarian. Just don't tell me you speak that too, or i'll
have to learn Italian and i'm too damn old for that. :)

Here is a link to a book you can buy on "100 years of Veglia".
Beware, it's a long link, so it may wrap a couple of times in your
reader.

I don't think so. Veglia is Veglia.

Wyler Vetta is the home brand of the importer & distributor Binda
(importer of Omega and other Swatch Brands). Dr. Croco, who has created
his own brand: Hublot, is the nephew of late Mr. Binda.

Lorenz is another homemade brand of another importer of Swiss watches,
just like Veglia. All have a very long tradition in the world most
watch-crazy country.

All those brands are Swiss Made, manufactured by some independantly or
jointly owned "Private Label" Swiss manufacturing companies.

WOW! Thanks for that Frank. I can see I have to brush up on my
searching capabilities. And by the way, not to worry, my Hungarian is
worse than my Googling...!
