Hi:

Could anyone please inform me about the difference between SEIKO's hardlex
and sapphlex crystals used to make their watches scratch-resistant. Please
note that I have a SEIKO quartz battery-operated watch (forgot the model
number) with hardlex crystal. I also have a SEIKO kinetic (Model: SKJ072P1)
with sapphlex crystal. I've been told that both of these materials are quite
resistant to scratches, but I don't know which one is better. I also heard
that some watch manufacturers use sapphire crystals. How does that compare
with the sapphlex crystal?

Thanks.

Regards,

Jabir

First, it's not necessary to post something 3 times. Once is just fine. :)
A sapphire crystal will be much more durable than Sapphlex or Hardlex. As for
which is more durable between Sapphlex or Hardlex, I'd have to check with my
Seiko rep. before I answered that.

Hardlex is Seiko's terminology for their tempered mineral glass
crystals, and sapphlex is the name they've given their synthetic
sapphire crystals. The sapphlex is the most scratch resistant. Regards,
