I recently picked up a clock which lists Dufa both on the dial and the
movement. It appears the clock originated in France in the late 1800's or
early 1900's. If anyone has any information about the company I would
appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Carmen, per Kochmann in his trademark index, Etzold and Popitz
of Leipzig, Germany, registered the DUFA trademark on 2.27/1920.
And, that Dufa was a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of
parts, movements and whole clocks.

Your specimen may have been manufactured with characteristics
ameniable to the French market. That it appears to be a little
older than ca 1920 is typical of clock movement paterns that
were made the same way with the same attributes and defects
continuously throughout the maker's existance. The extreme
example is the Morbier: made the same way in 1979 as almost
200 years prior.
