Hello All,
I have just received a floor clock that was in my grandfathers estate.
Searching through the internet there seems to be a difference between
grandmother and grandfather clocks. The one I have is as follows, the
face (top part) is square and the middle section is slender and the the
base is square again. There are 2 weights and one pendulum. Also I would
like to find a manual on the clock. the clock works perfect but we can't
get the chimes to work. This clock has no key also.

We looked inside and found that the company Is Colonial Manufacturing,
There is a serial # there too. I tried to find this company and found
that in 1987 they were sold to another company. (This took place in
Zeeland MIchigan) It said they made clocks since 1906.
I would like to find out who bought this company and if they are still
making clock like the one my grandfather had. And if there is a book or
manual on how to set the chimes.
Thank you in advance for any reply.

The Howard Miller clock company(http://www.howardmiller.com/) is
currently located in Zeeland, Mich.

Tall case, hall and Grandfather clocks are usually the same thing.
Grandfather, Grandmother and Grandaughter are based on heigth. How tall is
your clock?
