I need some info about a pocket watch I have :
signed "Cortebert T.C.D Demiryolu"
17 jewels
incabloc

On the back there is a locomotive incrusted and the symbols of Turkey.
Can someone give me some info about this watch :
- where it could have been bought (France or ...elsewhere ?)
- what kind of watch it is (is it special or not ?)
- why are there this locomotive and these symbols ?
Thanks a lot to any expert who would take the time to answer ...

A quick search revealed:

Hejaz Railway - TURKISH HICAZ DEMIRYOLU [THD]

railroad between Damascus (Syria) and Medina (Saudi Arabia),
one of the principal railroads of the Ottoman Turkish Empire.
Its main line was constructed in 1900-08, ostensibly to
facilitate pilgrimages....

CORTEBERT is a Swiss watch company (CWC) and (I believe?) still
in business. Incabloc is a shock-absorption system, and tended
show up *as marked* on watches mostly in the late 1960's and
1970's. They are not one of the better-known pocket watch makers.

I'd guess that you have a fairly nice mid-grade Turkish Railroad
pocket watch, made in Switzerland, from (about?) 1972.

Good Luck.
