Help on Clock ***The Great Alexander Clark Company Ltd***

Hi,
Has anyone heard of a clock manufacturer in the UK called the Great
Alexander Clark Company Ltd. My friend has an old Mantle Clock shaped
like a Bishops hat, and is wanting any info that you could give.

I'm not sure about the maker.....but the shape of ther clock you're refering to
is called "Gothic"

I recently found out that my Alexander Clark Co. mantel clock was valuable and worth over $1500. when I dropped into an antique shop specializing in clocks -- to get it fixed as the winding device had snappe and would cost $500. to fix!
I just stared at the clerk and said is the clock worth it -- and she said definitely its worth over $1500. I did get it fixed at a chinese clock place for $300. but not because of its monetary value but its sentimental value as it belonged to my late husbands mother. So I suggest you go to an antique shop and get it appraised. Good Luck!
