report-on-kavanaugh-accuses-dems-of-exploiting

Rudy Giuliani on Thursday claimed that an FBI review of sexual misconduct
allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh vindicated the
Supreme Court nominee and showed Democrats had exploited one of his
accusers.

Giuliani, who is representing President Trump in the Russia investigation,
wrote in a tweet that the FBI's report found "no corroboration of Democrat
smears of Judge Kavanaugh."

Giuliani suggested the report did not answer questions about who drove
Christine Blasey Ford home after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by
Kavanaugh, as she claimed, during a 1980s high school party, nor does it
corroborate her claims.

"Its obvious: Democrat exploitation of Dr. Ford. SHAME!" Giuliani tweeted,
at one point mistakenly referring to Ford as "Dr. Fox."

FBI report is done. No corroboration of Democrat smears of Judge
Kavanaugh. Who drove Dr. Fox there? Who drove her home? No one has come
forward! Do any of the 5 she placed there corroborate her? No! Some are
contradictory. Its obvious: Democrat exploitation of Dr. Ford. SHAME!

Giuliani would not have been able to view the FBI report himself, as the
FBI produced a single copy for senators to review in a secure area on
Thursday. The report is not expected to be made public.

The former New York City mayor's comments echoed those of many Senate
Republicans on Thursday, who declared the FBI's report was unable to
corroborate any of the claims against Kavanaugh.

In addition to Ford's accusations, Deborah Ramirez alleged that the judge
exposed himself to her during a college party in the 1980s. Julie Swetnick
later claimed that Kavanaugh was part of a group of high schoolers in the
early 1980s who tried to get girls drunk so they could be "gang raped."

Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations.

While Republicans gave the report a stamp of approval, appearing to
solidify Kavanaugh's path to confirmation, Democrats bemoaned a number of
people who were not questioned for the report and questioned its
thoroughness.

Democrats noted that neither Ford nor Kavanaugh were among the 10 people
the FBI reached out to for its investigation.

Attorneys for Ford wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray calling the
investigation a "stain" on the bureau and on "the American ideal of
justice," and offered eight witnesses who had offered to speak with the
FBI but were not heard.

A key process vote in Kavanaugh's nomination is scheduled for Friday,
teeing up a likely confirmation vote for this weekend.

Congratulations President Trump. Thank you for cleaning up the disaster
