The bottom line appears to be that if you use a disposal on a septic
system, you will likely wind up pumping more often. And keep the fats
out of it (ie. meat scraps).

I would like to hear from owners who have/had these for more than a year. I
have the the usual concerns of what it might do to my septic system.
Thanks!

I have one in my 1970's home with a disposal but I'm real careful not to
over use it. You have to watch the women though, because they will try and
grind up 50 pounds of potatoes skins at once if you don't keep your eye on
them.
Do yourself a favor and don't install one unless you are on a city sewer
line.
