This LB book covers D-400, D-600, & F series engines (1963 - 1982).

All say 0.010"

"Air Gap Adjustment

Rotate flywheel until magnets are adjacent to the ignition pack [...].

Correct air gap between flywheel and coil "heels" should be .010".
This space should be checked with a Lawn-Boy Air Gap Gauge (#604659)
or a piece of .010" PLASTIC shim stock.

If gap is incorrect, loosen the C-D pack mounting screws slightly and
allow flywheel magnets to pull C-D pack against gauge. Tighten screws
securley."

More info than you need - but I have some extra time tonight.
