I have a sprinkler head with the inscription "Weathermatic Turbo 3". It
is supposed to rotate slowly (as it's siblings do on the same circuit),
back and forth, between two stops that define an arc. I bought the house
with the sprinkler system installed and know nothing about it except how
to turn it on.
This particular sprinkler head can rotate very slowly counter-clockwise
but then fails to return in a clockwise rotation.
1) Do I have to replace the head?
2) If not, what do I do to repair it? If so...
3) Who makes it and where do I get a replacement?
4) How do I actually do the replacement?
Lastly, with working heads of this design, how do I adjust the limits of
rotation? It's not obvious to me.
Thank you!

Weathermatic's tech support department is a voice mail system. I left a
detailed messaged four days ago, but have had no response. Anybody care
to take a stab at answering my questions?
Thank you!

That's what I do. I replace with Orbit Voyager II.
>: 3) Who makes it and where do I get a replacement?
I buy replacements at Home Depot or Home Base. I've seen the same
brand elsewhere for more money. Or you could get the Hunter PGP for
even more, it may be worth more.
>: 4) How do I actually do the replacement?
Unscrew the old head counterclockwise. Look at the bottom. Does it
match the bottom of the new head or is there a bit of pipe in it?
Transfer any pipe to the new head. Screw new head in clockwise. Some
people dig a hole around the head. I usually don't, unless the new one
won't fit in the old hole or the dirt is too soft and falls into the
hole before I can get the new head in.

They're kind of a pain... (I like the robit/hunter better even though
they require a tool.) But maybe that's because I've never seen any
instructions either? What I've figured... While the head is up you
can see a little mark on the side directly opposite the nozzle. Below
the mark is a rubber strip going around the head with degree symbols.
That adjusts how much of a circle is covered. Line the mark with the
degrees desired. Then simply turn the rotor against the stop or turn
the entire head on the pipe to set the edges.

Hey, guess what! I got a terrific response from Weathermatic tech
support! Detailed answers and even an attached doc file with tons of
tips.
Thanks to Jon Sherman of Weathermatic!
