Question of Wall Painting

Hi:
The house that we just bought has the 50's or 60's wall style. i.e.The wall surface is rough, like "chicken pot" on human skin.
Is it easy to repaint and have a finished smooth surface?

I haven't the slightest idea what "chicken pot" is, but maybe you could
scrape/sand the wall down and then skim coat it with joint compound. I
would recommend mixing the compound in the 5gal container with a drill
attachment (and you could even add a little bit of dish detergent as
you're mixing it if you want- makes it go on as smooth as butter- YEAH
BABY!! ....but that tip's just between you and me- don't tell anyone
else our little secret!!-

Sounds like you have blown stippling on all your walls..its easy to re-paint..of course you can't make the walls smooth, unless you want to do a lot of sanding..lol...  When painting you will need a thicker knap on the roller cover.  Happy Painting!
