Today was the deadline for counties in Arizona to certify their votes
and at least two of them had said they would not

But today the Maricopa County** group voted unanimously to certify.

But the other county, whose name I forget, refursed. Lawsuits have
begone to force them to, but the deadline for state certification is a
week from now (maybe more but not too much more.) And it seems that if
the state certification comes before that county certifies, that all the
votes in the rest of the state will be counted, but not that county.

And that county is a predominantly Republican county, which could mean
that wiithout the Replubcan votes, some of the state elections could
flip-flop and become Democratic***.

And it's not even because that county commission thinks the vote in
their own county was done wrong. They are suspicious about other
counties, the ones where Democrats did best.

Is t his irony or what? Is this cutting off your nose to spite your
face?

The state vote count is probably the same day it would be in a
presidential election year.

Stay tuned until the state vote count!!!

**Long familar to me from COPS tv.
***I'm not sure which ones these would be since I thought the Dems won
all or all but one statewisd offices. And I'm too lazy to look it up.

What's not to like about mask mandates, clot shot mandates, and watching
inflation erode your buying power and savings?

Of course people voted for the democrats.

Is this irony or what? Is this cutting off your nose to spite your face?

It's Cochise County where this is happening. 60,000 voters iirc and 60%
Republican, so 20% more Reps. than Dems. If their votes are not counted
one Dem candidate for Congress will win. If they are counted he will
lose. Also if they are not, the Dem candidate for State Sup of
Education will win. Normally that wouldn't matter much afaik but these
days it certainly can. The judge has given them until Thursday to... I
missed that, either certify or appear in court to explain why not, not
sure which. The state canvas is next thursday so it has to be settled
before then. The county will not pay their legal bills.

In addition Lucerne County, Pa, where Wilkes Barre is located, has not
certified. 2 Reps said no, 2 Dems said yes, and 1 Dem *abstained*!!!

But the good new is that Cochise is the only county in Arizona to do
this and those two I listed seem to be the only counties in the country,
and threats before the election made it look like it could be much
worse.

Maybe Lucerne Cty. in Pa. was also, but Cochise county was ordered to
certify and they did, so election totals were as announced. There was
still talk of 3 crimes possibly committed by the head of whatever was
supposed to certify the election, for refusing.

They should have let the stupid repubs deny the count and dispose of the
votes. That could have given us another Democratic House seat.

Darn state officials swore to uphold the law! Why? The others don't
want to!

BTW, and off topic, they keep talking about how trump woudl pardon all
the Jan 6 rioters if in office again. Guess what, First he'll pardon
himself for all the federal crimes he's committed.

Let's hope the insurrection conviction comes before that could happen.

My friend, in Arizona: "three state laws that establish criminal penalties for “failing to perform an election duty.” Two are misdemeanors and one is a Class 6 felony, the least serious felony classification in the state."
