Painting question: interior wall paint bubbles-up

I repainted my bathroom recently. I noticed a bubble appeared in a spot or
two as paint was drying. Paint bubbled-up like bologna being fried. This
also happened quite a bit in the summer when I repainted another bathroom/
shower. Any ideas what causes this?

You have to scrub all the soap and scum off the walls until they are
clean, and then dry before painting in bathrooms. Did I mention that the
walls have to be cleaned?

Drywall or plaster? Is there a layer of wallpaper under any of the paint? Any
chance the substrate was damp prior to painting?

I have always heard never to paint inside unless you have temps that are
over 50 degs - inside or out. All sorts of lil problems can come from that.
Same things happen when its over 85 degs. Just a thought.

Could be poor adhesion i.e. painting a latex over a gloss without dulling
the surface, a surface contaminate on the paint or moisture in the
substrate.
