Hello,

I have a metal cart where the two tires are held onto the shaft using
these "push-on" type of fasteners.

The kind with the prongs all the way around so they can move in only one
direction.

Like as shown if you visit the Starlock site. > http://www.bakfin.com/
(see half-way down the page)

Horrible method of holding the tires on, as there is no good way to
remove them to put on a new tire, easily.

Anyone have any hints on how to get these things off of the shaft ?

Thanks,
Bob

I've not found an easy way yet. Brute force works...risking damage.

I believe these fasteners are a one-time use item. New ones can be
found at a hardware store. Not expensive, at all.

Yeah, get a pair of pliers or side cutters and tear them off, drill a
hole and use a washer and kotter key or a little hose clamp to keep the
wheel from coming off.

Print out your web page and bring to the hardware store, or any place that
