Hi All,

I have a Sears Model 139.654001garage door opener, and the little
spring on the impulse relay is broken at the end. I'm not sure where
it connects at the top. I tried to order the impuse relay assembly
from Sears today, but they stopped stocking it in 1996.

Does anyone know if there is a second source new or used for the relay
assy, P/N 160B27? Or do you know how/where the top of the spring
connects? That is the only thing wrong with the opener.

Any help would be extremely welcome. If you wouldn't mind, would you
also email any comments suggestions you have, in addition to posting
them here at d.st...@home.com
.

TIA

Don

It might be worth checking with a local Overhead Door or similar
dealer. Sears has used a couple of different manufacturers and they may
know who to contact (or even have the part in stock).

I went to wwww.sears.com and checked your model no. in parts and did
find that they sell parts, but could not find an impulse relay.or any
spring, i have a sears garage door opener about 15-20 years old and on
mine when you take the cover off you can see some springs on the side
with some small switches that turn the power off when the door hits it
upper and lower positons so the door does not break apart. by on mine
they call it a limit switch. is this what you are talking about?
do you need springs? or a relay? if you need a relay, take the old one
off and bring it to an electronic store an see if they can match one up
for you, even if it does not look the same as long as the electrical
stuff is the same it will work. if you need a spring, a small one, you
can try around at various hobby shops, radio shack or be on the look out
for some just stuff that you can salvage small springs from....
hope this helps. when i checked the parts diagram on sear's site its a
java scripts and did not see it very well, describe what you have, if yo
have a scanner can you scan the diagram and post on a web page or
location like alt.binaries.clip-art newsgroup and let us know that it
is there so we can see it and see if we can offer any help......
