I recently did an estimate for vinyl siding replacement and was
recommended Certainteed siding. I also read an article which claims
that Royal is better than Certainteed. Any comments or good / bad
experience with either brand are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

BTW what is a good price per sq. ft. for vinyl siding replacement in
NJ area?

They each have different products to choose from, Certainteed, I believe
owns Royal Products.

I have just specified Royal for our new home because of the testing
standards in Canada. Quite frankly, you can buy Royal's best for the price
of an American made medium quality.

I try to buy american...but when our testing standards are lower, there
really is no choice.

Check out Consumer Reports from about 2 years ago.

Consumer Reports found the "best" siding of any manufacturer, which
correlates with the highest priced line they offer, often is not their
best model in terms of actual performance. So don't go by price alone.
