Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Have it repaired. Such scratches are common and there are companies
out there that can repair the finish so that you can never tell where
the repair was made.

Would the above apply to new Kohler enamel over cast iron
sinks, also? Maybe Kohler doesn't make its enamel as durable
as it used to. I've had enamel sinks most of my life. I got
this new one a few months ago, & there they are, scratches
on the floor of the sink, from metal pots, Iguess. Of course,
sinks are supposed to be made to withstand the washing
of metal pots. But even if repaired, the repair wouldn't even
be as durable as the original enamel, would it?
I guess I need to call Kohler & see what they recommend. But
in the meantime, if anyone knows about this subject, I'd
appreciate a suggestion.
If the scratch has not penetrated the enamel down to the iron, it won't
rust. However, it will probably look better if you have it
professionally repaired. My suggestion: get the name of the nearest
authorized repair person from Kohler, have it repaired, and send the
bill to the tile guy. If he won't pay it, deduct it from what you owe
him. Fair is fair.
Good luck,
Nelson
